                             New hospital container
Saturday 24 August 2019

Cats are very pleased about and intrigued by their new (hospital) container which arrived punctually on 24 August. During the days leading up to the event patients had been moved from the old container to the two enclosures and the area around the old container was cleared, The fridge and the washing up area had to be moved as well as the door opener  (granting entry to welcome visitors) and the filing cabinet (office). However,  the planning paid off, the strong  team was confident and by the end of Saturday Cats were inspecting the strong shell of their future hospital . Once the vital air conditioning , water and electricity are fitted, feline patients, vets and carers can heal, recuperate and work in an improved, less cramped environment.

The Cats' Garden project continued

June 2019   Getting greener....

Picture
Just before summer really sets in the Cats' trees arrived.
Picture
7 new trees will produce oxygen, fragrance, shade and cool . And leaves to chase and play with ...BIG GRAZZI to trees and planters!

April 2019

After a long and fertile pause the garden project is sprouting shoots again. Cat loving volunteers transformed the car port into a Cats' playground with shelves for rest and play complete with  dangling toys to chase. Plants were puchased and  energetic visitors joined carers in potting and placing. Cats most gratefully received donated additions  to the increasingly popular Green Corner. A garden team promised an impact on the palm garden and we have at least two carers who will support the Cats in keeping an eye on the budding plants.
If you want to donate plants (safe for Cats), functioning garden tools, compost or clay pots to the Cats Garden project, please text us on 99908714........

                               A thoughtful gift
10 February 2019

Picture
Sooty admiring his presents
Primrose, an affectionate, delicate and fluffy Tal Madonna, is a thoughtful Cat. When she "won the lottery" and was homed early this year, she wanted to be remembered by a gift to her less fortunate brothers and sisters she left behind. She could not give to all, so she chose the Leukemia Cats. On the Feast of St Paul's Shipwreck (Faith,  Hope,  Charity, our Cats understand these concepts extremely well),  they received signal red litter bins and easy to clean, distinctive, beautiful ceramic plates. If you consider, that leukemia is transmitted by urine and saliva, perhaps Primrose managed indeed, to consider ALL Csaf Cats.....(?)
A BIG GRAZZI from your Sanctuary friends, Primrose,  and ALL THE BEST for  your new life!!!!!!!!

Our enclosures now ready for all seasons
23 January 2019

On Sunday, 4 strong volunteers made a morning trip to help the Cats clear the 2nd enclosure and allow for the long awaited weatherproofing to the high standard already offered by the 1st enclosure since last summer.
On Monday the Cats, all in need of special care, could return to their highly finished "sanctuary in the Sanctuary".

A big GRAZZI from all the Cats to their dedicated helpers!

                         Visit from Happy Cat
17 January 2019

Picture
Cat matters: Csaf Ambassador Bella on Grace , Happy Cat vet Rebekka Schneider and Denise Grech, GLAD Enterprises
It was a brief, but full visit, very much enjoyed by all. Dr Rebekka Schneider and Denise Grech experienced the Sanctuary in full swing. They arrived simultaneously with a feral (!) Siamese rescued by concerned members of the public, a group of visiting students was just leaving and the morning shift of volunteers still busy. Once the visitors were welcomed by the 300 Cats,  Csaf president Doris Zarb and vice president Grace Mifsud, information was flowing. Cats are excellent communicators once you speak their language.

 Four fluffy dwarfs adopted!
scroll down for the happy end
15.09.2018  The arrival

Picture
They arrived Friday night and are already grand. Four black, friendly, fluffy stars ready to be homed. The sooner the better!!!   A Cat Sanctuary for strays is not the ideal environment for vulnerable kittens. As they just separated from their mother it would be kindest and best for their body and soul to home them in pairs. One for sorrow, Two for joy is not just an idle rhyme in the context of kitten homing! Please see Take Two directly under HOME  or News from two kittens now named Rio and Mio under Adoption stories.  Then arrange a visit to see them!!!

19.09.2018

1.10.2018 For the four Fluffy Dwarfs life is a whirl. They learnt how to live in a cage without their elusive Mummy.  Now it is from each others' company that they draw their confidence and comfort . Deworming and spot on treatment were no problem. Life is fun as long as you share it with a healthy sibling!

On 19 September two of them were homed !!!! TOGETHER Big Brother and Big Sister took the giant step into family life. TOGETHER they are now learning to trust humans and share their affection. TOGETHER they will also explore a human home....For a kitten playing is learning and who better to play with than a sibling? A GIANT GRAZZI to to the adopting family. They understand the great support a sibling provides when the parent is gone. Double joy for all involved!!!!!!

WONDERFUL NEWS !!!
THE TWO REMAINING SISTERS VIVI AND BEAUTY FOUND A HOME TOGETHER!

Aby and Beau.
12.09.2018, updated 25.10.2018

Picture
Baby Beau and Mummy Aby
It is hard to believe that this graceful pair are mother and son.
Small boned, delicate Aby seems a mere kitten herself,  but she is milking her only (surviving?) son.
Aby and Beau are feral Cats, brought into the Santuary to await neutering.
Afterwards they will be released  into their familiar environment.

However, for an experienced and patient cat lover who enjoys gradually (!) winning Cats' confidence, they would most likely prove a rewarding challenge. Aby and Beau could become best friends to understanding owners who want Cats because they like to spend time with them.
Mother and son love height, play lively, but amazingly quietly in the confines of their cage, are curious observers and quick learners. Unfortunately, in the Sanctuary,  carers have so litte time to do justice to the interest these two young Cats are developing in humans.

Birkirkara Babies

On Monday an enormous Cat from Birkirkara gave birth to 8!!! healthy kittens. She is a good Mummy, who accepts much needed support with feeding and cleaning her family
