Adopt a cat

Adoptions are not on a first come first serve basis. We often have to remind people that these are lives that they will be responsible for.

We are always happy when interest is shown in one of our rescued cats and we do our utmost to ensure that the cat is going to the right home.

We will ask you to complete an adoption form and we will complete a home inspection before you adopt.

We will tell you as much as we can about your new cat - from its personality to its medical requirements if any.

We are always available after adoption for any queries and love to hear from you and see pictures of your cat in its new home!

Our goal is for the happiest outcome for both cat and new parent.

ADOPT, DON'T SHOP

Since I moved out of my parent's house, we still felt it was quite empty without a dog or a cat! To be honest I never owned a cat before, was more of a dog person but since we live in a small apartment I thought a cat would be best.

SOOOO many Cats to meet and greet
I contacted a lot of shelters and fosterers and one day I decided to visit CSAF [Carers for Stray and Abandoned Felines}. If I didn't have two parrots, i would have opted for an older cat because it broke my heart to see so many of them abandoned and craving human contact.
But for us it was better a kitten so it would adapt more easily to our other pets. We fell in love with two small kittens while we were at the shelter but ended up taking another two from a fosterer who was about to leave Malta.

All new! And I'm so small!!!
We didn't want the last two kittens remaining to return to a shelter and spend their time in cages, so we took them in. We were looking for one and ended up with two! I opted for fostering but i am sure that once they are in, they won't  go to anyone else now!

Exploring HOME
So today I'd like you to meet our youngest addition to the family, two brothers, Fire and Flame. They were supposed to be Peach and Apricot but due to an epic fail in pronounciation from Ivy's side (Apricock!) we opted for simpler names .

We like it here.
Yes I added more work to the tons I already have but since I am always at home anyways, then why not! With the extra work also comes extra love coz when they feel like it, they do come to me for cuddles. And the purring is such a stress relief .

Playing makes me really tired....
I would like to send all of you a message and if you really want a pet, please go round in shelters and adopt or if you can't adopt you can foster for a short time and find them a good home, it is so rewarding. If you can't even foster, you can opt to be a volunteer, these shelters do need a lot of hands on help or if you can't even volunteer, then give donations. These innocent beings did not deserve the misery or the life on the streets, but us humans are mean and we put them in this, so please be kind and help! They show us nothing but love!

I am a house Cat now, Named and loved.

                                                                Message from Araleah (age 10):

"Dear cat and dog owners,
Dogs and cats are very alike in some ways.  They both have loyalty to us humans and they are both filled with love.  They both like cuddling with their owners and they both can learn tricks!
When I was younger we had lots of dogs and cats and they all got along almost immediately, which is a good thing, we even have 2 dogs and a cat that are best friends, the cat even sleeps cuddled up with our big dog!  If your pets don't get along you should introduce them once a day or even just introduce their scents to each other at first, so  they will know they are going to be staying together as family.
Good luck!"

Consider the following before adopting

Picture
Are you ready for a 10+ year commitment?
Picture
Will the cat be part of your family?
Picture
Do you have the space, time and resources to take care of your cat?
